For my first semester Design Studio at RISD, we were asked to create a typeface for an assignment. I wanted to design an unconventional typeface and redefine the boundaries of text and fonts. In response, I created a zine inspired by the classic children's ABC's books to tell my story of growing-up, and the transitional times that hinted to the end of childhood. Instead of traditional text, the illustrations and stories accompanying them are now the font. I have sold many copies of these hand binded books and through sharing my stories with others, I hope to have empathized with peoples' childhoods, and inspire them to meditate on their own journey of growing-up.
